Mahindra launches Thar at 4.47 lakh rupees

The Indian Market leader in utility vehicles Mahindra & Mahindra Today Launched its 4x4 off-roader the Thar CRDe. The 4x4 BS IV variant priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Thar DI BS III variant priced at Rs 4.47 lakh (ex-showroom Jaipur).

The Thar will be launched in Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mangalore and Jaipur by December-end and the rest of India by January 2011. It is Targeted at off-roading Enthusiast, retro look seekers & people wanting to make a unique style statement

The Thar is Powered by 2.5 liter Turbocharged Common-Rail Diesel Engine that produces 77kw (105 BHP) and drive by wire technology which is capable of providing it variable speeds and acceleration. It is available in four colors – Fiery Black, Toreador Red, Mist Silver and Rocky Beige.

Overall with its Unique styling and aggressive pricing Thar is a potential product for Indian market.

Hyundai targeting sales of 1.5 lakh Eons by Dec 2012

Korean auto major Hyundai Motor India(HMIL) is aiming to sell 1.5 lakh units of its latest entry level compact car 'Eon' by the end of 2012, a top company official said today.  It plans to sell 1,500 cars per month in Kerala, HMILVice President (Production) T Sarangarajan told reporters at the launch of 'Eon' in the state.  The car has been built keeping in mind varied Indian conditions and special requirements of the customers, he said, adding that it will help expand HMIL's market share in the fast growing small car segment.  Hyundai's design and development centre at Namyang in Korea has worked in sync with its Hyderabad based R&D centre to firm up on the design of Eon, which would be available in six colours, he said.  HMIL sells eight car models across segments. TVS shows off Radeon and Qube concepts

Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer, the TVS Motor Company once again displayed their hybrid concept scooter, the Qube, as also seen at the previous Auto Expo. Slated for a commercial launch sometime in 2013, TVS claims the stylish, automatic hybrid scooter remains in its developmental stages. The company is also displaying another upcoming commuter bike at the Auto Expo, the 125cc Radeon, which when launched shall expand the company’s 125cc portfolio, currently only represented by the Flame. The Radeon can however only be expected to launch by the third quarter of 2013. TVS also displayed its indigenously developed Automatic Transmission technology concept, which it claims is equally convenient and adaptable on a scooter as a bike, capable of boosting mileage and efficiency by 20 percent.
